SOUTH JORDAN VA CLINIC
50 Veteran Care Packages
In cooperation with the South Jordan Business Committee, which is a subset of the South Valley Chamber of Commerce, we were able to donate 50 veteran care packages in April 2023 to the South Jordan VA Clinic. These packages are comprised of a fleece blanket, various hygiene supplies and some snacks and activities.
The South Jordan VA Clinic distributes these packages to veterans who are struggling with homelessness or barely making enough money to survive.
THE CHRISTMAS BOX HOUSE
100 Minky Blankets
In 2022 and continuing into 2023, we have been making minky blankets. Each blanket takes 4 -5 hours to make so these blankets truly are a labor of love!
The blankets get donated to The Christmas Box House, where they are given to children staying there that are awaiting foster care placement. Minky blankets are so soft and bring a bit of comfort to these children in this very hard time of life.
THE FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER
50 Child Aprons
In 2022, we made 50 child aprons. These aprons will be part of a "Welcome basket" that will be completed in 2023 and donated to The Family Support Center.
Residents of The Family Support Center are families that are escaping abuse, addiction or homelessness. The child aprons will be packaged up with a mom apron and a cookie-making kit so that when a family moves into The Family Support Center they will have a fun family-bonding activity that will make them smile!
ANGELS WITHOUT WINGS
65 Child Christmas Packages
Utah has thousands of Venezuelan refugees that come here each year - including many, many children. When the Venezuelan refugees arrive, they have no belongings - not even a favorite toy 😪.
The Christmas packages gave 65 children something to smile about at Christmas. Each child received a blanket, a stuffed animal and a book.
The Christmas packages were distributed to the children by the non-profit Angels Without Wings and The American Venezuelan Refugee of Utah.
THE FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER
50 Child Care
Packages
We donated 50 child care packages (that consist of a blanket, a stuffed animal and a book) to The Family Support Center. The care packages will be given to the children when they arrive at the shelter to provide them with a bit of comfort and something they can call their own. These 50 child care packages will provide The Family Support Center with enough packages to give to the children that come and go for an entire year!
The Family Support Center is a shelter for families escaping abusive situations and will provide transitional housing to these families for up to two years.
SOUTH VALLEY SERVICES
30 Fleece
Blankets
We tied and donated 30 adult-sized fleece blankets to the South Valley Services.
The South Valley Services provides shelter and ongoing supportive services to women, men and children who have been impacted by domestic and sexual violence. The families that stay are the South Valley Services stay there on a temporary basis and the blankets that we donated will help keep them warm!
CHRISTMAS BOX HOUSE & VENEZUELAN REFUGEES
100 Easter Baskets
In 2022 & 2023, we assembled and made stuffed animals for 100 Easter baskets to provide an Easter basket for children that may otherwise not get one.
50 of these baskets were donated to The Christmas Box House, which is a shelter for children that are awaiting foster home placement.
The other 50 baskets were donated to the Venezuelan refugee children living in Utah.
THE FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER
5,000 Easter Eggs
In 2022 & 2023, we assembled 5,000 Easter eggs that were donated to The Family Support Center so they could put on Easter Egg Hunts for their residents.
The Family Support Center is a shelter for families escaping abuse, addiction, and homelessness.
AMERICAN LEGION
150+ Pictures Colored
We have colored over 150 pictures that were donated to put a smile on the faces of Veterans living in Utah.
These pictures were distributed to the Veterans by the non-profit American Legion.
Projects we are working on
The Family Support Center
The Family Support Center is a non-profit that gives emergency and on-going support to families affected by abuse, addiction, and homelessness. Whether it is providing a place to stay in an emergency or longer-term housing assistance, The Family Support Center helps mothers gain the skills they need to become self-sufficient and provide them with a safe haven from abuse.
In 2023, we are working on the following projects for The Family Support Center:
Welcome Baskets
Welcome baskets provide the needed supplies for the residents to get off on the right foot. The families are often starting out with nothing so the welcome baskets provide basic supplies such as laundry soap, towels, and hygiene products.
Our goal is to donate 20 welcome baskets in 2023 by April 30th.
Mom Care Packages
The mom care packages are meant to give a mom the comfort they need for a fresh start. They contain a soft fleece blanket and some other self-care/pampering items - just what a mom needs to rejuvenate their spirit!
Our goal is to donate 20 mom care packages in 2023 by April 30th.
The Christmas Box House
The Christmas Box House is a non-profit that provides emergency residential shelter and resources for children ages 0 to 18 who are in state custody because of alleged abuse or neglect. Imagine being sent as a child to an unfamiliar place without your parents and often without your siblings. When the children arrive at The Christmas Box House, they get to choose a stuffed animal and a blanket - and the blanket of choice is the very soft, comforting "minky" blankets which we will provide. We will take pleasure in knowing that we will help provide the children with even a little bit of comfort in an awful situation!
In 2023, we are working on the following projects for The Christmas Box House:
Minky Blankets
Thanks to a generous grant from Intermountain Health Care, we are able to provide 100 minky blankets to the children at The Christmas Box House. Each blanket is a labor of love, taking 4-5 hours to make!
Our goal is to finish and donate these blankets by January 30, 2023!
Easter Baskets
By donating 50 Easter Baskets to the children at The Christmas Box House, we help brighten their day at Easter time when they are away from their families.
Our goal is to finish and donate these Easter baskets by March 30, 2023.
Other Upcoming Projects
We have some other fun projects planned for this upcoming year, including veteran care packages, making stuffed animals to incentivize 3rd graders to learn their math facts, and making fleece hats for the homeless.
We can't wait to have you and your family help us with these projects!
